PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Bechtel is a global provider of engineering, construction, and project management services with a reputation for excellence and innovative project delivery. An immediate opportunity exists, within our Mining and Metals business unit to be part of the ALBA Potline 6 Project in Manama, Bahrain.

The Board of Directors of Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (ALBA) has directed the ALBA Management Team to implement the construction of Potline 6 (the “Project”) and all other necessary facilities to produce an additional 540,000 tonnes per year (tpy) (nominal) of production capacity. The Project will include key facilities such as: Green Anode Production, Anode Bake, Anode Rodding, Reduction & Reduction Services, Casthouse and all associated infrastructure and sub facilities.

The Project Leadership Team will be based in Manama, Bahrain, supported by the New Delhi Execution Unit.

Salary will be based on current market rates and the posted grade will not be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.

It is a requirement to be considered for employment to produce a Good Conduct Certificate from the CID. A certificate completed within the last 3 months will be accepted.

POSITION SUMMARY: Working as part of the BBS finance team and Project team, the AP Accountant will be responsible for supporting finance & accounting activities for the Alba Potline 6 project in Bahrain. The position will functionally report to the Financial Services Manager of M&M and operationally to the Alba Finance and Accounting Manager (IBCL).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 1) Operation of financial and administrative controls for the Alba project in accordance with Bechtel policies and procedures, client requirements and applicable statutory regulations. 2) Undertake the responsibility for project’s accounts payable/receivable activities, supports general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations. 3) Reviews and release vendor/contractor payments (IBCL/AGENCY) in accordance with PO/Contracts. 4) Checks accounts payable balances to ensure payments are released on time and applied correctly. Works with the project’s team and client’s representative in ensuring all IBCL & Agency payments are current. 5) Works closely with Accounting Supervisor(AP) to resolve the day to day queries related to the accounts payable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Accounting degree with 3 year experience of accounting experience to support the project requirements. He should have good communication (Oral & Written) in English & knowledge of MS Office suite of applications (e.g. Word, Excel).
