Ensure network connectivity of all workstations
Assist in the management of all network hardware and equipment
Install and maintain equipment and cabling for telecommunications systems, digital communications systems, and LAN communications and systems
Assist in all equipment, hardware and software upgrades for telecommunications systems, digital communications systems, and LAN communications and systems
Assist with client trouble calls, on a basic and intermediate level, to record necessary information regarding a trouble condition
Instruct users in equipment, application and operating system functions for telecommunications and network equipment
Assist in the documentation of service level agreements
Assist in the research of network products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
Assist with placing and escalating vendor service calls as a result of data communications outages
Assist in the management of security solutions
Maintain reports regarding system downtime
Maintain plans for preventative maintenance and disaster recovery
Assist in responding to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
Perform and test system backups and recovery
Assist in network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and vendor support contracts
Perform network and security audits
Coordinate with end users and technical staff to implement and maintain systems that utilize industry best practices to meet business objectives, while maintaining the security and integrity of the data, system and network
Generate metrics, project status reports and operating status reports for management and team members
Provide service desk and technical support to users
Perform routine problem analysis and resolution design for systems and applications
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Provide daily maintenance and sustainment of all assigned ELMR Government equipment.
Conduct a 100% semi-annual inventory of all ELMR Network Management Terminal (NMT) assets and provide report to the Regional ELMR Manager.
Coordinate with the Regional ELMR Manager/Assistant Manager on the assignment and programming of radio assets and troubleshooting radio subscriber units and/or network.
Recommend and implement approved operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
Installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of software and hardware products in support of the implementation and operations plan.
Provide maintenance and operation of emergency communications “fly away” equipment in support of the Installation Commander/Emergency Manager.
Coordinate encryption key changeover with Regional ELMR Manager.
Reload encryption keys in user subscriber units when requested by helpdesk.
Provide end-user training on ELMR functionality and configuration.
Monitor the installation RF site, inspect RF equipment, AC units, and power supply.
System check power generator and UPS IAW prescribed maintenance procedures.
Report failure of ELMR T -1 transmission and communication lines supporting to DISA.
Manage on-site inventory of equipment spares.
Record all customer service and/or support requests in the Remedy Tracking Database
2+ years and Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Associates degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Industrial Technology, or Computer Sciences, or associate level vendor certification(s)
Network specialized formal training and platform specific vendor training
Education or knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support
Knowledge of computer network facilities, current computer platforms, operating systems, applications, security methods and network management tools
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
Ability to successfully interact with other IT professionals and end-users
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Is open and responsive to change and demonstrates a commitment to the process of continuous improvement by identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers
*Education: *Technical training in a relevant technical field [to be specified at TO level]/C4ISR or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, engineering or mathematics.
*Experience: *Eight (8) years of hands-on experience with specific projects [to be specified at TO level]/C4ISR, to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in relevant technical field [to be specified at TO level]/C4ISRC.
Meet DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 90 days of employment.
Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret or higher level security clearance required.
